It is hard to believe that we have only been here for a week of school! After morning classes and lunch, there is an assembly in the hall on Fridays. It is the time when they do any special presentations and announcements regarding the upcoming weekend and school week. There is so much info – I had to bring my dayplanner and keep track! This weekend we go to Aosta, Italy on Saturday and to Colle des Mosses on Sunday for Tour de France, next week is field trip to Merten on Tuesday, Aqua park on Wednesday, Saturday, excursions to Chamonix (Mont Blanc) or Zermatt (Matterhorn). We are not going to be bored!

Even the weather can not dampen our spirits…Rain, rain and more rain… The winds in the evening are quite strong. It rained all day today, so pics at the banquet were only taken inside.

The welcome banquet was at 5pm today. Everyone was dressed up- guys in suits (and yes…. They were wearing suit jackets!) Girls in fancy dresses, hair, make- up, shoes all top notch. Our students represented well, as you can see in the photos!

We had a tomato and mozzarella salad for first course, followed by salmon en croute, creamed spinach, herb and garlic rice and rolls. For dessert we had a frozen lime mousse with candied ginger for garnish.

After the banquet (around 7pm) the students leave the cafeteria and all went to the lobby(which isn’t any bigger) and crowded around to take pictures- many, many pictures! The fingers up by the face seem to be the thing to do in photos!
