July 13, Monday

What is a typical day here? Well, breakfast is from 7:00-7:45, cereal, toast, juice, fruit, salad bar, soup and croissants today! Yummm. Classes start at 8:00 and run until 12:35 with a 15 minute break in the middle. Our students are taking a variety of classes. They had choice between Japanese, Japanese culture, European studies, drama, creatve writing and graphic design. It has been great to see our kids trying out their Japanese- which now consists of Hi! my name is.... (they even got homework the first day- but more about that later.)

Charlotte has really enjoyed watching the unsual fashion of the students- we thought the SRSS students were unique- well, these students also have their own brand of fashion- a couple of students were wearing full animal costume PJ's with a hood with ears attached at breakfast today. Others have interesting T-shirts and lots of hammer pants and bubble skirts (we are back in the 80's!!)

After lunch are activites, free time or family time depending on the day.

Supper was a BBQ today, so 3 different kinds of BBq'd meat and chips- yeah.... we are not starving here. After supper at 7:00 is study hall. The students must be in their rooms at their desks working on the homework that they were given- not sleeping, Tina!! I can't blame them, we are really busy and still not quite on this time yet.

The students have a bit of free time after study hall and then it is lights out! Peace and quiet!!
