July 30-31, Thursday and Friday

Our visit to the UK continues. Wednesday night we did a fantastic supper at a 'typical' classic pub in Essex. Then we did a drive through London at night. Many of the sights are lit up and quite fantastic by night. Home by midnight.


Thursday we slept in and had a lazy morning. After getting some brunch, we drove out to the west side of London, to the area where I lived and worked from in 2000-1. We drove through Slough and saw the office building, out to Holyport to the golf course where I lived, to WIndsor where we saw the castle, et al. Met up with my old roommate at the pub where we used to go, and then returned to the golf course for supper. Good to see the 'old places' again. Flick was playing in a larger pub that night, so we enjoyed another evening of great music and fun. Made the long drive home by 1am.



Friday was another lazy morning. We visited another little town and enjoyed a coffee/tea by the 'lake' with the geese. Did a nice lunch and then headed for the airport. We had a great visit, and Neil was unbelievably gracious in hosting us. Many thanks, Neil!!
